Very sturdy, good looking plates. They're not standard ceramic ware but you'd never know it. I've never dropped one on the floor, so I can't speak to their breaking strength, but supposedly they are pretty strong and none of them has chipped or broken as ceramics tend to do, so I'd buy them again.
